I really enjoyed my time working at SAS. I started as a Technical intern and I was able to steer the course of my career during my time there. I learned new things constantly and had a great opportunity to experience different technologies and parts of the company. The on-site benefits are fantastic including, but not limited to, a gym, fantastic meals, day-care, 9-hole disc golf court, walking trails, free snacks and refreshments, etc.

I felt the pay was very reasonable and enjoyed working there. Pros Delicious lunches, free snacks, work-life balance, flexibility. Cons Unclear promotion schedule, worked with outdated internal systems.

Was this review helpful? Report Share. Good work life balance, good company culture, great colleagues to work with, working from home during covid, return date next January, excellent healthcare plan, downside is underpaid despite promotions.

Pros not micromanaged, flexability for dr appointments, Wfh. Cons paying below market rate, future of WFH uncertain. They have a good a popular set of product sold to a large array of companies. They have very little debt and are well-respected in the community. However, the company is showing signs of wear. Many of the truly talented, young employees have left for greener pastures and many of the good old-timers are being given retirement packages.

They aren't hiring to fill these positions in the US. But there seems to be a growing number of developers in the India office. It's not talked about often but fairly obvious. Cons Mostly hiring out of India. It was a really fun and happy atmosphere.

Benefits were outstanding, there were lots of activities and it felt like a family. The work itself got old though. Pros Felt like family. Cons Work not fun. If you get in on the right team its great, Not all managers are great, overall they are I think.

The work is great if you are on a team doing fun stuff with a cool product that is getting attention. Not all products are invested into so you could get stuck with something that isn't invested into much, or just being maintained. Job seekers rely on your experience. However, all those things are not useful for health person without any child or with all grown-up children, and they paid very low.

Managers are far from being professional. To some of them, their ego seemed more important than the company's interest. Their don't have a good long-term vision and wouldn't listen to other people. No innovation. Cons low payment, bad management, bad long-term vision. There are still some good people at SAS, but relentless pressure to cut costs and do more with less is driving out many top performers.
